Casino Wedding Tendencies in Nevada: Now and Then

Casino Wedding Tendencies in Nevada: Now and Then

It has been years since the first weddings were established in the biggest gambling centre of Nevada. Las Vegas became a wedding mecca for many couples seeking non-traditional ways of organising the ceremony.

What’s the tendency now? New Zealanders, being rather eccentric and enthusiastic in terms of any entertainment, often seek out wedding spots like Nevada casinos, despite the threat of ending up in regret and swift divorce, afterwards.

Las Vegas began to recover after the 2009 crisis as a popular tourist destination. In 2010, the number of tourists in the city increased by 2.7%. That’s up to 37.3 million.

Despite the fact that the popularity of Las Vegas increased amongst tourists, and despite the popularity of budget weddings in the state which enticed millions of adventuresome couples, the number of marriages in the city decreased by 7.2%, according to USA Today.

Casino Wedding Tendencies in Nevada: Now and ThenIn 2010, some 92,000 weddings were carried out in the city’s chapels, the lowest number since 1993. The most productive year for weddings was 2004, when more than 128,000 wedding ceremonies took place.

Nowadays, a wedding ceremony in Las Vegas is once again a popular consideration from couples all over the world, primarily due to a fairly simple procedure of marriage registration, but also due to the unlimited entertainment opportunities the city offers. It truly is is one of the most amazing cities of the United States.

Some couples find their homegrown nightlife quite boring : disco with DJs, concert halls, theatre, ballet, jazz and many other hot spots that, while well organised, seem too traditional. That’s why a lot of young and more risque couples prefer the immense variety of the Las Vegas casinos, night clubs, cabarets, concerts and live performances.

If you’re planning a Nevada wedding in a casino, and fancy a little online practice, head to Online Casino Guide.

It will either whet your appetite or put you off Las Vegas for life!

2016 Wedding Trends

2016 Wedding Trends

2016 Wedding TrendsWedding trends come and go. Sure, some stand the test of time and will repeat for season after season, some even going for decades.

In the main, though, we have noticed that brides are more want these days to personalise just about every step of their wedding journey, creating a day that truly says “we did it our way”. Sure, there are fads, but brides don’t often like to book something too fadish as it may well no longer be the flavour of the month by the time the wedding rolls around. After all, do you really want to look back on your wedding photos in, say, five or ten years time, and think “Oh hell, did I really wear that?” or “WOW, look at those whacky centrepieces!”.

That said, it does pay to know what’s likely to be “hot” for the upcoming season. We’ve put our thinking caps on and done the hard yards for you.

Weddings follow fashion

As with makeup and high street fashion, weddings are showing a huge amount of metallic for 2016. From gold and silver through the various tinges of bronze, copper and pewter. Metallics can be used in one tone, say gold, or blended together to add more vibrancy. Team metallics with crisp white linen, and tons of candles to reflect the shimmer, and you’re set for a winner! Some experts are predicting a wane of silver but, to be honest, we’ve been hearing that for years and it’s never happened! And don’t forget to carry the metallic theme through to your invites!

2016 Wedding TrendsLight the way

Whether you opt for candles or electric elements, lighting will play a huge role in setting the ambiance of your wedding. Once again, take a look at home decorating and take your cues from that. Bare bulbs hung en-masse from rafters or high ceilings are very hot, while chandeliers just never seem to go out of favour.

Take your seat

At one stage, cocktail functions were seen as a way of being able to afford more guests for fewer dollars. These days, the trend is heading back towards seated dinners. Long table lunches with huge shared platters are often popular in a vineyard setting.

Flower Power

Eco-conscious brides are reneging on imported out-of-season blooms, and opting instead to find something locally grown that’s in season. No matter what your choice of actual flower is, 2016 will be the year for simplicity and style, far outweighing opulence and grandeur. Another hot trend is to use plants in pots as centrepieces rather than a bouquet of cut flowers – not only very eco friendly, but you have a ready-to-plant garden of your favourite plants waiting for you after the honeymoon!

A Tipple or Two

While many will still opt for beer, wine and the odd champagne cork popping for the toasts, the hot trend for 2016 is cocktails! Get together with a mixologist (ask at your local liquor store or your favourite bar) and whip up a signature cocktail. You could even have one for the girls and one for the boys. If you and your guests are all avid beer drinkers, think about a beer garden. And who says you can’t have a Mexican themed tequila tent .. or what about a martini bar!

Food Glorious Food

We generally all know someone who doesn’t eat gluten, someone who shies off dairy, perhaps a vegan or two. With today’s dietary restrictions, it’s worth adding a line to your RSVP cards to include any no-no’s so that you don’t serve up hearty French pies to a room full of gluten intolerants. Perhaps a good mix of cuisine offerings is what’s called for in the end.

2016 Wedding TrendsHave your cake!

Butter icing is on the comeback trail … and naked cakes are big! Naked cakes are generally unfrosted or only partially covered in icing, and then topped with berries, fruit or flowers. The individual layers are visible, so you can stick to one filling or go nuts with different ones. Hand painted caked are all the rage right now, allowing for some very personalised cake options.

Socially speaking

In this day of social media, you need to decide early on whether you want to have your own hashtag for all guests to post under, or whether you’re going old school and asking guests not to post anything up before you do! Just remember that you’re paying a professional photographer, and often a videographer, to capture those all important memories and if every guest is standing in the aisles trying to get a shot, your professionals may get rather frustrated!

Above all, remember that it’s your wedding. If you want to follow tradition, then do so. If you want Victoriana, have it!

Watch your toneWATCH YOUR TONE – An Essential Step In Your Skincare Routine

You wouldn’t wash your hair and not condition it, so why skip toner after cleansing?

Introducing the New Murad Hydrating Toner, the piece of the skincare puzzle you may not have realised was missing.

If you’re unsure whether toner is a necessary step in your daily skincare routine, then Murad’s Hydrating Toner will change your mind. Specifically designed to replenish lost moisture and refresh skin, this lightweight mist works to rehydrate your compexion while restoring the skin’s natural PH balance, allowing the skin to better absorb topical treatments like moisturisers and serums while also neutralising surface impurities.

Dr. Howard Murad, founder of Murad Inc, says toner is the step that completes the cleansing process and is beneficial for the overall health of your complexion.

“Given how busy we all are these days, people tend to rush through the cleansing process, and toners can remove any impurities that may not have been washed away during cleansing,” says Murad.

Formulated without any of the nasties like Parabens, Sulfates or Phthalates, the nourishing formula contains Lecithin and Grape Seed Extract to lock in moisture and restore suppleness, Chamomile, Peach and Cucumber Fruit Extracts to soothe irritation and soften the skin, Vitamins C and E act as a powerful antioxidant protection while Osmolytes help to regulate water balance for optimum hydration levels.

TO USE: Every day after cleansing, generously spritz over face and neck, gently wiping away excess moisture with cotton pad. For best results, follow with your daily moisturiser or serum.

Murad’s Hydrating Toner is scientifically proven, dermatologist developed, and tested on people, not animals. Available exclusively at Caci nationwide.

Start your Spring Equinox detox with Inika Cosmetics

On average, it takes only 26 seconds to absorb chemicals found in cosmetics into the bloodstream[1].

U.S researchers identified 10,500 industrial chemicals used as cosmetics ingredients, including carcinogens, pesticides, reproductive toxics, endocrine disruptors, plasticizers, degreasers and surfactants[2].

Spring is the most popular time for people to undertake a detoxification says natural nutritional therapist, Bridget Lem.

“The Spring Equinox is the time for rejuvenation and new life and is a natural time for us to achieve an optimal cleanse with our bodies,” says Mrs Lem. “Detoxing is not only about your digestive system, it’s about cleansing your overall being.

“Given the skin is our largest organ, it makes sense to detox what we are putting on our skin too,” she says.

Inika Cosmetics was awarded one of the highest safety ratings in the world by the Environmental Working Group. All Inika Cosmetics products are certified organic and free of harmful chemicals and Inika Cosmetics CEO Tony Rechtman believes that’s why it’s the best brand to have on your skin 12 hours a day, 5 days a week.

“For those wanting to detox their skin but still wanting to wear makeup Inika is the perfect choice,” says Mr Rechtman.

Originally created by founder Miranda Bond who suffered from endometriosis and infertility, Inika enabled Miranda to detoxify her cosmetics and life.

Three months following her new chemical free regime, Miranda fell pregnant. “Derived of rock and minerals Inika allows for clean living, starting with your skin and it also prevents any possible, and unknown, harm coming from the 21.9 grams of lipstick women ingest per year”, says Tony.

The most common harmful chemical found in everyday cosmetics is the dreaded Bismuth Oxychrloide, – an ugly filler that is chemically connected to arsenic. “You could have a damaging heavy metal element on your face right now without knowing it,” says Mr Rechtman. “People who find their skin to be constantly irritated, itchy, bumpy with clogged pores, whiteheads and extreme blackhead problems are using product that contain Bismuth Oxychloride. In cosmetics, Bismuth is used as a pearlising agent giving a high shine with an unnatural glow that causes foundations to slide off the face if not buffered into the pores,” says Mr Rechtman.
