Advanced Jewel Craft

At Advanced Jewel Craft, we make wonderful bespoke pieces of jewellery that are special to you or to the person you might offer it to.

In our cosy studio based in Cardiff Bay, we will discuss your ideas and sketch the first concepts which will help us determine your style and thoughts.

A sketch allows us to gather information about your personal tastes, your likes and dislikes; all of which inform our sketch process.

Our sketches are the first stage of exploration into a piece of bespoke jewellery. The process is relaxed and fun whether at our studio, over the phone or via e-mail.

Our master craftsmen are award winning artisans trained in all areas of our ancient trade and have apprenticed in Hatton Gardens, the famous jewellery quarter of London.

Using the finest materials, we are always ethically minded and can offer all options for ethically sourced materials.

All our work carries the registered British hall mark, respectfully recognised all over the world as the finest.

Beautifully boxed and accompanied by certifications including our own unique bespoke certificate which has technical information and a high resolution image.

We want the whole experience to leave you with a sense of how special and unique a piece of bespoke of jewellery is.

If you do want to come along to discuss your requirements in more detail, please let us know your preferred day and time (I can see you any week day between 9:30am and 5pm or Saturday between 10am and 2pm). If you live overseas or too far to travel to our studio, we will happily discuss it over the phone or via e-mail.

Stewart Dawsons

David Stewart Dawson started the Stewart Dawsons company as a manufacturing jewellery company in 1871 at the thriving port of Liverpool, England. The company soon realized that manufacturing jewellery was only part of the trade and that to increase the business they had to deal directly with the public, which prompted the opening of the first store in England in 1876.

Based on the success in England, the brand expanded into the Australian market in the late 1800’s, with two stores in New Zealand, one in Auckland which opened in 1885 and one in Dunedin which opened in 1886. Following on the success of these stores, Stewart Dawsons soon opened in Wellington and Christchurch in key locations; of particular note is the corner of Willis Street and Lambton Quay which most Wellingtonians know as Stewart Dawsons Corner.

The brand is now privately owned by the James Pascoes Group and there are 13 Stewart Dawsons stores throughout New Zealand. The brand is recognised for its quality and range of jewellery, and the large offering of prestige brand watches including major brands such as Michel Herbelin, Gucci, Armani, Citizen, Seiko, and Olympic to name a few.
